“L Word” series to have a Revival in 2019

Showtime has announced that, after 10 years, the series L Word will return with most of the original show’s stars reprising their roles.

Since the announcement for a rebooted show back in 2017, the network Showtime has made it official on Thursday, 31st January 2019, according to The Hollywood Reporter. With an eight-episode season to serve as a sequel to the original series. Which will premier by the end of the year.

Although the three main stars, Jennifer Beals (Bette), Katherine Moennig (Shane) and Leisha Hailey (Alice), will reprise their roles, they will also be executive producers for this new revival. Other characters from the series like Tina, Jenny, Carmen and Kit may also return to the show’s sequel.

Little is yet know about the direction and story behind the series, but it will continue to take place in Los Angeles and focus on a group of friends, many who are queer women. Let’s hope that this new L Word will continue to expand the grounds and vision not only on lesbian, bi, queer women but also on trans characters daily lives and thoughts.
