International Coming Out Day is today

Today, October 11, the Coming Out Day is celebrated, which is an international day to raise awareness about the importance of getting out of the closet and discussing issues related to the LGBT + community in general.

NCOD (National Coming Out Day) was founded in 1988 by Robert Eichberg, a New Mexico psychologist and founder of the personal growth workshop, The Experience, and Jean O’Leary, an openly gay political leader from Los Angeles and then, head of gay national rights advocates. The date of October 11 was chosen in 1987 because it was the anniversary of the Washington National Landmark for Gay and Lesbian Rights
