Bruno de Moura Roque: Next Friday Night!

Remember, fashion is a means of exteriorizing our essence and individuality. When you choose your clothes, be confident and true to yourself and you will be perfect for any occasion.

Nightlife is for many of us an escape from work, traffic, deadlines, and all the other things that cause us stress.  The night also offers us a refreshing sense of freedom.  At night, we can be more ourselves, we can meet new people, drink a bit more than usual, dance, sing, lose our mind…

Losing our mind can be good sometimes. And there would be no problem at all, if only the memories of the night were left alone in the minds of those who lived them. However, we know that doesn’t happen anymore. Whatever you do tonight, will be disclosed tomorrow on the Instagram’s, Facebooks and other medias not only of your friends, but also the ones of that one jealous chick who won’t miss a chance to make you look bad. You have to look good in the pictures – and I’m here to help you.

We’ve all had our Cinderella moments.  Those nights when we left the house in a beautiful blue dress with shiny crystal shoes in a chariot driven by beautiful black horses, we danced all night with a Prince charming and then, we got back home in rags, in a pumpkin driven by rats, with only one shoe and no exact memory of what happened.

After years of living countless moments like this, I’ve decided it’s time to say ENOUGH!

There is a way we can have fun, dance, slay, without looking like a squeezed lemon at the end of the night! And the secret is on our outfit.

Our clothing strongly influences the way the world sees us.  Therefore, here are some tips that will, hopefully, help you find the perfect balance between comfort and style, which will last until the end of the night – or longer!

Accessories

My advice is to limit the number of accessories to the bare minimum.  Bracelets, necklaces, caps or rings are only asking to be lost or damaged.

A watch always looks good, but why not just forget the time for once?  When the disco lights come on, you’ll know what time it is.

In general, your mobile phone, your credit card and your ID are more than enough accessories.

Bags should be avoided at all costs. Yes, there are storage areas in the club, but why waste time waiting in line to store or collect your bag when you could already be dancing to ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ with your girls?

Clothes

Avoid excessive formality.  Everyone loves a well-designed suit, but for their elegance and not for their comfort, so leave the suit and tie in the office.

Opt for more comfortable and breathable fabrics – Some popular synthetic materials like polyamide and polypropylene offer both of these qualities.  Linen, cotton, silk and of course, denim, are also great options.

Very important: you should always opt for darker shades.  In a bar or a disco, the sources of dirt are endless.  Light shades will get easily noticeably dirty.

TIP: If you really want to show off that baby blue shirt that you adore or that white V-Neck that shows off that six-pack you’ve been working so hard on, always wear a white sleeveless shirt underneath to absorb sweat and prevent stains.

My main advice is: WEAR PATTERNS!

Those of you who read my last article already know that this year more than ever patterns are very on trend. They are a great way to express individuality, even on the simplest and most comfortable clothing items, such as a T-shirt or shorts.

Shoes

Next to the gym, the disco is the most ideal place to wear trainers!

Avoid white shoes at all costs, or materials such as velvet or suede, as these get dirty very easily.

Formal leather shoes should be avoided as well as they offer no comfort.

Choose something comfortable that goes well with your outfit.  Remember that if you choose classic shoes, these should always have a darker shade than your pants.

Cosmetics

For those who like to wear makeup, remember to only use waterproof makeup to prevent sweat from exposing you.

Perfume is, in my opinion, the most important cosmetic.  It is a mark of individuality and, when well chosen, it can say a lot about you.  Science tells us that the olfactory memory is strongly linked to our emotions, therefore, don’t be shy, spray yourself all over with that perfume and even if the people who you meet at night forget your name the following day, at least they will remember your smell.

I hope these tips will help you, and that finally your Cinderella moments can end up with a prince knocking on your door the next day.

Remember, fashion is a means of exteriorizing our essence and individuality.  When you choose your clothes, be confident and true to yourself and you will be perfect for any occasion.
